Privacy Policy

Last updated October 2026

This policy explains what data DryRig collects, how it's used, and your choices. We designed the app to work with as little personal data as possible.

Information we collect

Account data. If you create an account, we store your email address and an encrypted password so you can sign in across devices.

Location. With your permission, the app uses your device location to show nearby campsites and stops. Location is processed on-device to center the map; we don't sell location data.

Usage & diagnostics. We collect limited, aggregated analytics and crash reports to keep the app reliable.

Content you add. Favorites, trips, and any reviews or photos you submit are stored to provide those features.

Website analytics

When configured, the website loads Google Tag Manager, which in turn loads Google Analytics 4 and a Meta pixel. Those tools measure page views, App Store and Google Play link clicks, and giveaway entries. If Google Tag Manager is not configured, none of these tools are loaded. Campaign parameters already on the page you opened (including utm values and fbclid) may be stored with a giveaway entry and added to store links so we can tell which campaign led there.

Giveaways

If you enter a promotion we store the email address you submit, an optional name, your country, your confirmation that you are 18 or older, and the campaign parameters present on the page. We use that to run the promotion and to count optional referral bonus entries. Email [email protected] to ask that a giveaway entry be deleted.

How we use information

To provide and improve the app's maps, search, trip planning, and offline features; to authenticate you; to communicate about your account; and to maintain security.

Sharing

We don't sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers who help us operate the app (for example, hosting and advertising attribution such as Meta) under appropriate safeguards, or when required by law.

Data sources

Campsite, coverage, and bridge data shown in the app come from public sources such as OpenStreetMap, the National Park Service, Recreation.gov, and the FCC, and from publicly available listings — not from your personal data.

Your choices

You can revoke location permission at any time in your device settings and delete saved content (favorites, trips, reviews) in the app. To delete your account and associated personal data, follow the steps on our Delete account page — in the app or by emailing support. That page also lists what we delete, what we keep, and how long email requests take.

Children

The app is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
